DHHBA Reaches Settlement with the California Lawyers Association to Increase Accessibility of Educational Programs and Events

In December 2023, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Bar Association (DHHBA) successfully reached a settlement agreement with the California Lawyers Association (CLA). This pivotal agreement addresses the captioning requirements for CLA’s extensive library of online educational programs and events. The settlement extends to all new educational programs and events, encompassing webinars, webcasts, podcasts, continuing education sessions, annual meetings, and other events. We sincerely thank the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) for their invaluable representation throughout this process.

The Press Release of the settlement agreement reached with CLA is found at the following link. We are grateful for all the Members of the DHHBA, and today, we are so glad to see some progress collectively. Again, we are also immeasurably grateful for DREDF’s talented representation.
